Tata Motors had plenty to celebrate this festive season. Between Navratri and Diwali, the company delivered more than 1 lakh passenger vehicles, marking a robust 33% year-on-year growth. The rise was fuelled by strong festive demand, improved supply, and the continued popularity of Tata’s SUV and electric vehicle range.

“Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting 33% growth compared to the same period last year,” said Shailesh Chandra, managing director and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.

SUVs lead the charge

Tata’s SUV lineup once again proved to be the star of the season. The Nexon, India’s top-selling car in September 2025, led with over 38,000 retail sales — a sharp 73% rise from last year. The Punch followed closely, clocking 32,000 units, up 29% year-on-year.

The company’s electric vehicles also saw strong traction, retailing over 10,000 units during the festive period, registering a 37% growth. “Our SUVs continue to lead this momentum, supported by our EV portfolio and full model range,” Chandra added, noting that the performance underlines Tata’s focus on product leadership and customer-centric delivery.

Dhanteras and Diwali boost

This year’s Dhanteras and Diwali window contributed significantly to the tally, with Tata Motors delivering more than 25,000 vehicles during the two- to three-day period. “Overall demand has been robust, and the GST 2.0 reform has provided additional positive momentum,” reportedly said Amit Kamat, chief commercial officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

Chandra added that the company’s festive performance “sets the tone for the rest of the fiscal,” as Tata prepares for new launches and continues to ride on sustained consumer enthusiasm.
