KTU BTech results: Muthoot institute among Kerala's top-performing engg colleges

Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), Kochi, has secured third position among engineering colleges affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), achieving an impressive 85.8 percent pass percentage in the 2026 BTech examinations.

The achievement comes in a year when KTU recorded its highest-ever BTech pass percentage of 60.1 percent, marking a significant improvement in academic performance across the state.

Among Kerala's top performers

According to the KTU results announced recently, the top five engineering colleges in Kerala, based on pass percentage, were:

  • College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) – 86.2 percent

  • LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura – 85.9 percent

  • Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), Kochi – 85.8 percent

  • Barton Hill Government Engineering College – 85.1 percent

  • Model Engineering College – 82.6 percent

Consistent academic excellence

The latest result reinforces MITS Kochi's reputation as one of Kerala's leading engineering institutions. The college has consistently figured among the state's top performers in KTU examinations and has maintained a strong academic track record over the years. The institution had secured second position in the state in the 2025 KTU results and has repeatedly ranked among the top private engineering colleges in Kerala.

College authorities attributed the success to the dedication of students, faculty members and the institution's academic support system.

Record year for KTU

KTU's 2026 BTech results marked a milestone, with 18,515 students clearing the examination out of 30,810 candidates from 127 engineering colleges. The 60.1 percent pass rate is the highest recorded by the university since its inception.

The university also reported pass percentages of 76.1 percent for BHMCT and 84.72 percent for BDes programmes. The strong showing by MITS highlights its growing prominence in technical education.
