Kerala-based real estate developer Veegaland Developers made a positive debut on the stock exchanges, with its shares listing at a premium over the issue price.
The company’s shares opened at ₹154 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), marking a 10% gain compared with the IPO issue price of ₹140. The listing reflects the strong investor interest the company received during its initial public offering.
The ₹210 crore IPO of Veegaland Developers was open for subscription from September 10 to September 15. The issue received significant participation from investors, with the offering comprising entirely fresh shares.
The company had fixed the price band for its IPO at ₹130–₹140 per share. Investors were required to bid for a minimum lot size of 107 shares, translating into a minimum investment of ₹14,980 at the upper price band.
Following the listing at ₹154, retail investors who received one lot of shares gained around ₹1,498 compared with the IPO issue price.
Veegaland Developers plans to utilise the proceeds from the IPO for acquiring land, developing upcoming residential projects, and strengthening its growth plans.
The company is focused on residential real estate development, primarily in Kerala, where demand for housing projects has been growing steadily.
The successful listing highlights the increasing investor interest in Kerala-based companies entering the capital markets. The state’s real estate sector has witnessed steady growth, supported by urbanisation, rising demand for premium housing, and increased investments from non-resident Indians.
However, analysts caution that listing gains alone should not be the only factor considered by investors. Long-term performance will depend on factors such as project execution, financial performance, land holdings, and overall market conditions.
Ahead of the listing, Veegaland Developers’ shares were trading at a premium in the grey market, indicating positive sentiment among investors. However, grey market premiums are unofficial indicators and can change depending on market conditions.
The company’s stock performance in the coming months will depend on its ability to expand its project pipeline and deliver consistent growth in the competitive real estate market.
