Madhya Pradesh is ready to partner with Lulu Group in areas like logistics and cold chain infrastructure

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has invited Lulu Group to consider expanding its business footprint in the state. This move comes as part of the state's effort to bring in global investments and create fresh employment opportunities.

The discussions took place during Chouhan’s visit to the UAE, aligning with the state's broader vision under the 'Global Dialogue 2025' initiative, which aims to enhance technological collaborations and attract international investments.

A new focus on modern food processing

The invitation extends specifically to setting up a state-of-the-art food and agricultural processing centre in Madhya Pradesh. The state is keen to link local products—fruits, vegetables, spices, and grains—with global supply chains, creating an opportunity to increase exports and raise the profile of Madhya Pradesh’s agricultural sector internationally.

By focusing on modern food processing, the state looks to tap into both domestic and foreign markets, improving production and opening new avenues for trade.

Retail expansion in key cities

As part of the proposal, Chouhan has also invited Lulu Group to establish retail outlets and hypermarkets in Madhya Pradesh's major cities, including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. These retail hubs could not only provide a boost to local economies but also offer residents and visitors access to international-standard shopping experiences.

The state hopes that the presence of such outlets will serve as a catalyst for further investments in the region.

State cooperation in infrastructure and logistics

Madhya Pradesh’s Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) and Madhya Pradesh Agro are also on hand to offer their support. The state is ready to partner with Lulu Group in areas like logistics and cold chain infrastructure, both crucial elements in ensuring smooth operations for large-scale retail and food processing businesses.

This collaboration could play a significant role in creating new jobs and increasing exports, all while bolstering the state’s economic profile.
