Edutalim International Education, headquartered in Manjeri, Malappuram, is transforming the open education landscape with a fresh approach and forward-thinking direction.
Rejecting outdated methods of rote learning, Edutalim has evolved into a dynamic space where students learn through experiences and the power of technology. It has positioned itself as a pioneering platform committed to innovation in education.
With the support of hybrid campuses and an intelligently designed mobile application powered by artificial intelligence, Edutalim integrates curricular and co-curricular activities in a modern, engaging way. Every element is a thoughtful step toward the holistic development of students.
Moving beyond conventional yearly syllabi, the institution places emphasis on identifying and nurturing each student’s unique talents and strengths. This learner-centred approach is at the heart of Edutalim’s educational philosophy.
Interestingly, the initiative was launched by two young engineering graduates—not from a grand campus or sprawling infrastructure, but from a modest 200 square feet space built on ambition, dreams, and unwavering self-belief.
The journey began with just a hundred students. Since then, over 7,000 learners have successfully completed their studies here, and in the current academic year alone, 3,500 students are enrolled. What Edutalim offers is far from conventional education—it’s a learning pathway that blends possibilities with aspirations.
The institution now has a dedicated team of over 100 staff members. From Class 10 to postgraduate level, Edutalim offers a diverse range of open courses tailored to modern needs and varied learning goals.
Edutalim is not just a project—it is the embodiment of a distinct vision shaped by two friends: Zakariya P.V., a computer engineer from Pandikkad, Malappuram, and Muhammad Ashik, a mechanical engineering graduate from Pattambi, Palakkad. Together, they envisioned a new direction for education through this initiative.
The word ‘Talim’—meaning ‘education’—draws inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s Nai Talim movement, which upheld the belief that education is not a privilege for the wealthy, but a right for everyone.
In 2021, the duo launched the venture under the name Talim Group of Institutions from a modest building in Manjeri. Despite limited facilities, they moved forward with big promises and even bigger ideas. “There were constraints in infrastructure,” they recall, “but our imagination knew no bounds.”
In 2023, with a fresh perspective, the institution was renamed Edutalim. Zakariya, with 13 years of experience in the education sector, and Ashik, with seven years of professional expertise, gave the venture a renewed identity. Their aim was not just to impart knowledge, but to awaken and nurture it—turning Edutalim into a firm step forward towards the future of students.
Soon after, a branch was established in Ernakulam, and a sub-office was set up in Manjeri to ensure smoother operations.
In 2024, the launch of a hybrid campus—blending online and offline learning—opened up new possibilities, allowing students to access education both in person and from afar. Continuing on its path of innovation, Edutalim introduced a mobile application powered by AI. To support students further, an AI-driven system now works alongside teachers to help answer queries and guide learners more effectively.
What sets Edutalim apart as a leading distance education institution in Kerala is not just its diverse range of courses, but also its unique learning approach and focused training. The platform actively supports students in exploring higher education opportunities and building stronger career prospects.
Beyond delivering academic content, Edutalim ensures the kind of guidance and support typically provided by regular colleges. At Edutalim, mentors, teachers, and the academic guidance team work together to understand each student’s strengths and aspirations, offering personalised advice tailored to their individual paths.
Opportunities for self-expression and growth are also prioritised. Cultural and creative events provide students with a stage to showcase their talents and explore their potential.
In conventional open schooling systems, students are often left to navigate on their own—applying online and managing studies independently. A major hurdle in such setups is the delay in receiving notifications and examination updates.
Edutalim, however, is far ahead on this front. Every university notification is promptly and clearly communicated to students, ensuring they stay on track and make informed decisions about their academic journey.
Edutalim is driven by a team of accomplished educators bringing both deep expertise and practical experience to the table. With over 50 faculty members, the institution ensures that each day, through live classes, students receive not just lessons but the light of knowledge itself.
Going beyond textbooks, Edutalim offers motivational sessions and personality development training that help boost students’ confidence to new heights. The institution is firmly committed to ensuring that no student ever feels left behind in their learning journey—academic support is made available at all times.
The teaching methodology here is specially designed to make learning easier and more effective. According to the mentors, students who actively participate in classes are consistently able to complete their courses successfully.
Edutalim offers students more than just academic instruction—it provides clear guidance and conscious support to help them move forward with confidence on their educational journey. At every stage, the learning model here pays close attention to identifying and nurturing each student’s unique abilities.
“As part of helping students transition from academic life to life success, Edutalim focuses on recognising their goals right from the beginning,” say the founders in unison. “This institution is not just about education; it’s a foundation for future achievement.”
By helping students set clear ambitions early on, Edutalim inspires deeper engagement with their studies. It serves as a platform that motivates learners to discover their own strengths and aspirations, opening new pathways for personal growth and purpose.
Edutalim sets aside ₹100 from each student’s fee to support social service initiatives. During the natural disaster in Wayanad, the institution extended help by offering free education and other forms of support to affected students.
In addition to this, Edutalim continues to provide higher education free of cost to those who are otherwise unable to afford it. Kerala Equivalency courses for Classes 10, +1, and +2 are also offered free of charge to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
