German bus company FlixBus has commenced its luxury bus service between Bengaluru and Alappuzha. The service departs Bengaluru at 8:35 pm and is scheduled to reach Alappuzha by 10:05 am the following day. The return journey from Alappuzha to Bengaluru leaves at 7:30 pm and is expected to arrive in Bengaluru at 9:25 am the next morning.
The fare for the Alappuzha-Bengaluru route is priced at Rs 1,400 when booked through the FlixBus website. Along the route, the bus makes stops at several locations including Krishnagiri, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, and Kochi. The company has plans to expand its services to additional destinations in Kerala in the coming months.
FlixBus has been making significant inroads into the South Indian market, with a particular focus on connecting tourist destinations. Last September, the company launched services from Bengaluru to Chennai, Hyderabad, Madurai, and Coimbatore. The recent launch of the Bengaluru-Alappuzha service is part of its broader strategy in the region.
FlixBus, originally a travel tech company based in Europe, has expanded its operations globally. India marks the 43rd country where the company now operates. In December 2024, FlixBus announced the addition of six new routes connecting 33 cities in South India, bringing the total to 200 routes across 101 cities in the region.
