Beyoncé, one of the most influential pop stars in the world and a global symbol of modern music and culture, has officially joined the billionaires’ club. According to Forbes, the US singer, performer and entrepreneur has become a billionaire, making her only the fifth musician worldwide to reach this rare financial milestone.

The 44-year-old Grammy-winning artist crossed the mark after the massive success of her Cowboy Carter tour, which earned more than $400 million from ticket sales alone, along with an estimated $50 million from merchandise. Her earlier Renaissance world tour had already brought in about $579 million, underlining her unmatched pulling power at stadiums across the globe.

Her husband is a music billionaire

The achievement places Beyoncé alongside an exclusive group of music billionaires that includes her husband Jay-Z, who became the first musician billionaire in 2019, as well as Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift.

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born in Houston, Texas, and rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the hugely successful R&B group Destiny’s Child. She launched her solo career in the early 2000s, quickly establishing herself as one of the most powerful voices in global pop music. Known for blending music, performance, fashion and storytelling, she has built a career marked by creative control and reinvention. Beyoncé is today regarded as one of the most influential artists of her generation, with a fan base that spans continents and cultures.

Money from music

While Beyoncé has expanded her business interests in recent years — launching a hair care brand called Cécred, a whiskey label SirDavis and the Ivy Park clothing line — the Forbes magazine notes that most of her wealth still comes from music. This includes income from her vast catalogue and, more importantly, her record-breaking global tours.

In 2010, she founded Parkwood Entertainment, a management and production company that brought control of her music, tours, films and documentaries under one roof, strengthening her creative and financial independence.

Her 2024 album Cowboy Carter marked another major milestone, winning Beyoncé her first Grammy for album of the year. The tour that followed became the world’s highest-grossing music tour of 2025. The three-hour production featured appearances by her husband, children and former Destiny’s Child bandmates, and travelled with a massive production setup involving 350 crew members, 100 semi-trucks of equipment and eight Boeing 747 cargo planes.

Forbes noted that across the entertainment industry, few ventures are as profitable as a musician who can consistently sell out stadiums.

Other sources of income

Beyond music, Beyoncé also earned an estimated $50 million from the NFL’s 2024 Christmas Day half-time show, dubbed the “Beyoncé Bowl”, and about $10 million from appearances in Levi’s commercials.

From her early rise as a member of Destiny’s Child to becoming the most-awarded artist in Grammy history, Beyoncé’s journey reflects the power of talent combined with business control. As one of her own lyrics says, “It should cost a billion to look this good” — and now, she has officially made it.
