Indian passport holders can avail of visa-on-arrival access to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under specific eligibility conditions. This facility allows travellers to enter the UAE without applying for a visa beforehand, provided they hold valid residence permits or visas from certain countries.
The scheme has been in place for some time and applies to Indian citizens who hold long-term visas or residence permits from nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and member states of the European Union, among others.
Indian nationals with an ordinary passport and a valid visa, residence permit or Green Card from any of the following countries are eligible for a UAE visa on arrival: the United States, the United Kingdom, European Union member states, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
Travellers must ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.
Two visa options are available, depending on the intended length of stay:
14-day visa: Dh100, extendable once for an additional 14 days at Dh250.
60-day visa: Dh250, suitable for longer visits.
Payment is made at the airport or entry point upon arrival. Extensions must be applied for before the current visa expires.
