Tata Motors on Tuesday launched the facelifted Tata Punch in Mumbai, as part of the company’s continued product push in the passenger vehicle segment. The refreshed version arrives four years after the sub-compact SUV was first introduced in 2021.
Despite being on sale for over four years, the Tata Punch continued to be one of the country’s best-selling models in 2025, with Tata Motors dispatching around 1.73 lakh units during the year. And now with the facelift, Tata is looking to strengthen its position in the segment.
The facelift brings the Punch in line with Tata Motors’ latest SUV design philosophy. When it was first launched, the Punch drew heavy inspiration from the Harrier, earning the reputation of a “shrunken Harrier.”
With the facelift, Tata has given the Punch a redesigned front and rear, borrowing styling cues from its larger SUVs once again. The car now features LED lighting elements, including a connected LED rear light bar, giving it a more contemporary and premium appearance. Higher variants are equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels. The Punch continues to offer a segment-leading 193 mm ground clearance, reinforcing its SUV credentials.
Inside, the facelifted Punch receives a significant upgrade in terms of technology and convenience. The highlight is the new 10.2-inch “Ultra View” HD infotainment system, paired with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin now features dual-tone interiors, ambient mood lighting, and rear AC vents.
Convenience and connectivity have also been enhanced, with features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and a wired 65W USB Type-C fast-charger. The Punch also gets an electric sunroof, which can also be operated using voice commands.
The car is also equipped with Tata’s IRA Connected Car Technology, offering over 45 connected features that allow users to monitor and control several vehicle functions through a smartphone.
Boot space stands at 366 litres for petrol variants. The CNG versions offer 210 litres, with twin CNG tanks neatly packaged under the boot floor to preserve usable luggage space.
When the Tata Punch was first launched, its engines were adequate for the segment but not particularly performance-focused. With the facelift, Tata Motors has addressed this by introducing a turbocharged petrol engine option.
The facelifted Punch is now available with three powertrain options:
1.2L i-Turbo petrol engine, producing 120 PS power and 170 Nm torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission
1.2L Revotron naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 88 PS and 115 Nm, available with a 5-speed manual or AMT
1.2L Revotron CNG engine, producing 73 PS and 103 Nm
For the first time in the segment, the CNG variant is offered with an AMT gearbox, significantly improving ease of driving in congested urban conditions. The Punch also gets City and Eco drive modes, along with an idle start-stop function to improve fuel efficiency.
The facelifted Punch comes loaded with convenience features such as auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, auto-folding ORVMs, an air purifier, and a 360-degree HD camera with blind-view monitoring.
On the safety front, the Punch continues to set benchmarks in its segment. It has received a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests for both adult and child occupant protection. Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard across all variants, ESP, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, an auto-dimming internal rear-view mirror, and enhanced use of high-strength materials in the body structure.
Prices for the facelifted Tata Punch range from ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant to ₹10.54 lakh for the top-end CNG AMT variant.
