Gramodhaya, billed as India's first e-commerce marketplace dedicated exclusively to rural entrepreneurs, will be launched in Kochi on June 27 with the aim of connecting village-based enterprises to national and global markets through digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

Developed by GramRise Ventures Pvt Ltd, the platform is designed to help rural entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers, Kudumbashree units, women entrepreneurs and self-help groups market their products more effectively by providing access to a technology-driven digital marketplace.

Wider market access

GramRise Ventures Founder and CEO Dojo Jose said the initiative aims to create wider market access for thousands of entrepreneurs operating in villages and small towns across Kerala before expanding across India.

Unlike conventional e-commerce platforms, Gramodhaya integrates AI-powered customer relationship management (CRM), digital vendor management, automation tools and communication systems to simplify business operations for rural entrepreneurs.

Automated updates

Vendors registering on the platform will receive automated updates on market trends, business opportunities, product marketing strategies, order status, training programmes and other business-related guidance. The platform also offers free onboarding, digital storefronts, AI-assisted support, logistics coordination, payment solutions and market development assistance.

The company said the AI-enabled CRM system is designed to streamline vendor onboarding, training, customer engagement and market expansion while reducing administrative work through automation, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on improving product quality and growing their businesses.

Gramodhaya aims to make advanced digital technologies, previously accessible mainly to large companies, available to rural businesses and micro-enterprises.

The initiative will initially build a digital network of rural entrepreneurs across Kerala before expanding to other parts of India and eventually targeting international markets.
