KEF Hospitality India Pvt. Ltd. has handed over four Rapid Response Team (RRT) vehicles and a range of specialised wildlife rescue equipment worth around ₹92 lakh to the Kerala Forest Department under its corporate environmental responsibility (CER) initiative.

The vehicles were flagged off by KEF Hospitality chairman Faizal Kottikolon and vice chairwoman Shabana Faizal at a ceremony attended by senior forest officials and company representatives.

Boost to human-wildlife conflict management

The new vehicles and equipment are expected to strengthen the Forest Department's ability to respond quickly to incidents involving wild animals and improve rescue operations in areas affected by increasing human-wildlife conflict.

Speaking at the event, divisional forest officer Joshil M highlighted the growing challenges posed by human-wildlife conflict and the risks faced by frontline forest personnel in protecting both people and wildlife.

Faizal Kottikolon said the initiative reflects the company's commitment to social responsibility and supporting projects that create lasting benefits for society.

Focus on conservation

This is one of seven projects being implemented by KEF Hospitality under its Corporate Environmental Responsibility programme.

The company said its CER initiatives focus on environmental conservation, public safety and community welfare, in line with statutory environmental clearance requirements.

According to KEF Hospitality, the initiative aligns with its broader vision of supporting sustainable development through investments in healthcare, education, environmental protection, emergency response and infrastructure development.

The company said the latest contribution would help strengthen wildlife management, improve emergency response capabilities and promote safer coexistence between humans and wildlife.

The ceremony was attended by RFOs Prem Shameer, Sudheendran and Prasanth; Tulah Clinical Wellness General Manager Javed Khan; and officials of KEF Hospitality India Pvt. Ltd., and Forest Department personnel.
