The IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ERAM Skills Academy to jointly offer industry-oriented training programmes in emerging technology sectors, with the aim of enhancing employability and addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals.

The collaboration will focus on high-growth areas such as electric vehicles (EVs), solar energy, battery technology, drones and power electronics.

Monthly EV training programme

As part of the partnership, IPTIF will conduct a five-day electric vehicle training programme every month at its advanced EV training facility, which was established with the support of the ICICI Foundation.

The first batch will include participants from ERAM Skills Academy's Automotive Skill Development Programme. The training will combine classroom learning with hands-on practical exposure, enabling participants to acquire industry-relevant technical skills and improve their career prospects in the automotive sector.

Strengthening industry-academia collaboration

Established in 2020 by IIT Palakkad with support from the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), IPTIF promotes innovation in Intelligent Collaborative Systems.

The partnership with ERAM Skills Academy is expected to strengthen industry-academia collaboration while helping create a skilled workforce for India's rapidly expanding clean mobility and advanced technology sectors.

Placement support

The MoU was signed in the presence of the director of IIT Palakkad, A Seshadri Sekhar and ERAM Holdings' chairman, Siddeek Ahamed.

Senior officials attending the event included IPTIF director Vijay Muralidharan, CEO Saishyam Narayanan, COO Rijesh Krishna, TECHIN COO Midhu Unnithan, ERAM Holdings regional director Bijoy Devadas, ERAM Power Electronics CEO Jacob Thomas and ERAM Skills Academy general manager Austin.

Representatives from Mahindra & Mahindra also visited IPTIF's EV training facility to explore opportunities for industry collaboration and potential placement support for programme participants.
