Kerala Grameena Bank outlined its growth strategy for FY 2026-27 at the `KGB Manthan – Q1 FY 2026-27' conference held in Kochi recently.

Held under the theme `Collaborate, Innovate, Elevate,' the event reviewed the bank’s performance and discussed opportunities and strategic priorities for the current financial year. Senior executives and regional heads who participated in the discussions focused on operational efficiency and customer-centric banking initiatives.

Focus on growth

KGB chairperson Vimala Vijayabhaskar presented the bank’s performance highlights and outlined its transformation plans, with emphasis on sustainable growth, digital banking and operational excellence.

In his keynote address, Bhavendra Kumar, executive director of Canara Bank, highlighted the importance of customer-focused services in improving the competitiveness of regional rural banks.

Surjith Karthikeyan, director, Department of Financial Services, Government of India, shared insights on banking reforms and financial inclusion.

KGB on Forbes' list

Speakers highlighted the recognition of Kerala Grameena Bank by the Forbes magazine. The KGB It is the only regional rural bank in India to be featured on the prestigious Forbes World's Best Banks list. In the 2026 rankings, KGB secured an impressive 20th position in India.

Reaffirming the bank’s long-term vision, Vimala Vijayabhaskar expressed confidence that Kerala Grameena Bank would achieve the ₹1 lakh-crore business milestone.
