Liana, a homegrown Kerala brand from East Asian Consumer Products Private Limited, is steadily strengthening its position in the ayurvedic, cosmetics, personal care and home care products space. With a clear focus on natural ingredients, quality manufacturing and affordable pricing, the company aims to emerge as a leading manufacturer in these segments.

Brand identity

Liana has become a recognisable name in Kerala’s soap and cosmetics manufacturing sector. The company operates a modern, fully automated production unit at the KINFRA Industrial Park in Ottapalam. The facility has an installed capacity of 300 metric tonnes of toilet soap and highlights the growing importance of KINFRA parks in supporting industrial growth in the state. East Asian Consumer Products holds key certifications including ISO, GMP and ZED, reinforcing its emphasis on quality and process standards.

Products are marketed under multiple brands such as Liana, Cera, Fera and Famri, catering to a wide range of consumer needs across personal and home care categories.

Built on simplicity and trust

The brand name ‘Liana’ reflects the company’s philosophy of simplicity and accessibility. Managing director TA Abdul Manaf and director Sabna Muthukunnil wanted a name that is easy to pronounce and remember, while appealing to consumers across Kerala and other markets. The company’s focus is on providing safe and reliable hygiene products.

The butterfly logo used by Liana carries symbolic meaning. Blue represents beauty and happiness, while green stands for nature and purity, values deeply connected to Kerala’s ayurvedic and wellness traditions. The clean black outline reflects balance and quality.

Automation-driven growth

Founded in 2014, the company achieved a major milestone with the launch of its fully automated factory at the Ottapalam KINFRA Park. Automation helped improve product consistency, enhance quality and increase production scale. In addition to its own brands, the company also undertakes contract manufacturing for several well-known players in the sector.

Nearly 99 percent of the ingredients used in production are natural and selected for their safety for skin and overall health. Strict quality controls are followed throughout the manufacturing process, while keeping prices competitive for the mass market.

Expansion plans

East Asian Consumer Products aims to become a leading manufacturer in ayurvedic, cosmetics, personal care and home care products through continuous research into consumer preferences and market trends. An ayurvedic manufacturing unit has been operational since September last year.

The company plans to expand its business beyond Kerala into Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Exports are already underway to the UAE and Oman, helping take Kerala-made products to global markets. Plans are also in place to enter the modern beauty care segment with products such as face creams, lotions, body washes and serums. The group is preparing to strengthen its presence on e-commerce platforms by next year, as it targets faster growth and a turnover of ₹100 crore.
