Medivision Laboratories has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Oncopathology under the Tata Cancer Care Foundation to make cancer diagnosis more accurate and comprehensive.
The MoU was exchanged, at a function held in Kochi, by Medivision director Bibu Punnooran and Tata Cancer Care Foundation chief executive Shailesh V Shrikhande.
Those present at the event included Medivision director Berly Ciriac; Centre for Oncopathology operations head and senior consultant pathologist Dr Shilpa Prabhudesai; procurement lead and senior consultant pathologist Dr Vinita Pant; Tata Cancer Care Centre chief adviser Dr Kailash Sharma; and Medivision consultant pathologist Dr Smrithi Sara Thomas.
The collaboration aims to integrate histopathology, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and molecular diagnostics to provide comprehensive reports that can support clinical decision-making and cancer treatment.
The integrated approach is expected to help clinicians select the most appropriate diagnostic tests and combine findings from different tests to arrive at a more effective and precise diagnosis.
Medivision director Bibu Punnooran said the organisation was proud to collaborate with the Centre for Oncopathology under the Tata Cancer Care Foundation, which operates with the support of Tata Trusts.
Medivision director Berly Ciriac said cancer treatment and diagnosis are advancing continuously and that Medivision was collaborating with one of India’s most trusted laboratories.
