
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is set to establish a sprawling campus on 37 acres of land in Kochi, a move expected to generate around 10,000 jobs. According to The Economic Times, the upcoming campus will be located within the KINFRA Electronics Manufacturing Cluster.
The company is reportedly scouting for office space at Infopark in Kochi to accommodate its immediate need for 5,000 seats, alongside its ongoing campus development. The government is said to be in talks with several large developers in the tech hub to expedite the process.
Industries Minister P Rajeeve
Industries Minister P Rajeev had recently met Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran in Mumbai to discuss TCS's investments in Kerala. TCS is already present at Infopark in Kochi, surrounded by offices of major tech companies such as IBM, Wipro, and Cognizant.
At Kochi's Infopark, the government is working on expanding 500 acres of land, while discussions are underway to acquire land for expanding Kozhikode's Cyberpark due to the sharp rise in demand from investors.
In Kakkanad, the government has decided to take over the Smart City project, which will now be designated for IT companies. The Kakkanad region has seen strong demand, with global software giant IBM having set up two campuses in the past year, reflecting the growing expansion of IT and tech services in the state.
In November, IBM announced the launch of its largest GenAI innovation centre in India at Infopark, with around 1,500 employees and the potential to create over 5,000 jobs. Kochi, which is home to one of IBM’s five labs, has become the company's fastest-growing campus in the world.
