The Adani Group has started construction of a logistics park in Kalamassery, a project estimated to cost ₹600 crore. Spread across 70 acres, the facility is expected to generate around 1,500 jobs, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The park is part of the state’s Invest in Kerala initiative and is being positioned as a key link in global trade flows. Ashwani Gupta, whole-time director and chief executive officer of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), said the facility would integrate air, sea and land networks. It will include electric vehicle charging stations and smart logistics systems.
This park is one of APSEZ’s 21 such facilities across India, with the company aiming to expand the network to 30. The group also has its eye on Vizhinjam port, where operations are expected to start with handling one million containers in its first year. Industry watchers suggest that having a logistics hub close to Vizhinjam could enhance Kerala’s position in the regional trade chain.
Officials said the new project is expected to add strength to Kerala’s infrastructure profile, while also opening space for new employment. Though the full impact will depend on implementation, the park is being seen as a step that could shift how cargo and logistics are managed in the state.
