OpenAI has introduced a new feature called Canvas as part of its ‘12 days of OpenAI’ series. This feature, which is designed to facilitate real-time collaboration with ChatGPT, could change how users interact with AI.

Canvas allows users to work side by side with the AI, making it possible to edit and refine content or code interactively, while receiving feedback.

Kevin Weil, OpenAI’s chief product officer, referred to the feature as a shift in how people use AI, promoting more collaborative and creative processes. The Canvas tool is accessible to users on free, Plus, and Pro plans through the GPT-4 model. However, free-tier users may face restrictions on how much they can use it. It is available via the web or the ChatGPT desktop app for Windows.

How to use Canvas?

Canvas seems to support collaborative editing, where users and the AI can work on a document together, offering feedback on text or code. When users input a large amount of text, such as an essay, a Canvas button may appear in the upper-right corner, enabling the user to request feedback from ChatGPT, somewhat like receiving comments from a professor. It is also intended for use in reviewing and improving programming code.

OpenAI demonstrated Canvas with an example of creating a children's Christmas story, which highlighted its ability to incorporate elements such as emojis to make the content more engaging for younger readers.

Chatgpt Pro for Rs 16,970 a month

In addition to Canvas, OpenAI also introduced ChatGPT Pro, a premium subscription service costing Rs. 16,970 ($200) per month. This plan is said to provide access to more advanced capabilities. Other recent developments include a fine-tuning research programme and a new video-generating AI model called Sora Turbo, available to Plus and Pro users. These updates are thought to offer improved solutions for complex tasks, such as advanced coding, scientific reasoning, and mathematics.
