After building Vantara as a major wildlife rescue and rehabilitation initiative, Anant Ambani has now entered the premium dessert business with the launch of Vantara Creamery, an artisanal ice cream brand positioned in the luxury segment.

The new venture debuted in Mumbai through a luxury ice cream truck at Jio World Drive, attracting attention for both its presentation and pricing. Reports say a single scoop costs around ₹750, while some premium combinations could go close to ₹1,000.

Vantara Creamery

Vantara Creamery has launched with 17 flavours inspired by Indian tastes and nostalgia rather than conventional international dessert combinations. Popular options include Malai Kulfi, Filter Coffee, Guava Chilli, Lemon Sorbet, Kesar Peda and Tender Coconut. The ice creams are reportedly made using A2 Gir cow milk and produced in small batches to create an artisanal premium experience.

The launch marks an unusual diversification for the Vantara brand, which was originally introduced as a large-scale animal rescue and rehabilitation project in Jamnagar, Gujarat, under the Reliance Foundation. Industry observers see the move as part of the fast-growing premium food and experiential retail market in India.

Social media reactions

The venture has also triggered strong reactions on social media. While some users praised the branding and unique flavour combinations, others questioned the high pricing and debated the ethics of linking an animal welfare initiative with a dairy-based luxury food business.
