Five Kerala luminaries bag Oxygen Maha Pratibha awards

The Oxygen Maha Pratibha Awards have been announced as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Oxygen, The Digital Expert, one of Kerala’s well-known electronics retail chains. Five individuals from diverse fields have been chosen for the honour this year.

The awardees include writer K.R. Meera, social activist Daya Bai, sports icon Anju Bobby George, former vice chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University Sabu Thomas, and actor-producer Prem Prakash.

Each recipient will receive a cash prize of ₹50,001 along with a citation.

The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on December 18 at Renai Cochin Hotel, Palarivattom.

Marking the company’s 25 years in Kerala’s electronics retail sector, Oxygen Group chief executive officer Shijo K Thomas said the recognition reflects the organisation’s gratitude towards society and the continued support it has received from people across the state.

The winners were finalised by a jury comprising filmmaker Sibi Malayil, chairman Madavana Balakrishna Pillai and academic Paul Manalil.

Oxygen Group vice president Jibin K Thomas was also present at the announcement event.
