Google has opened its largest campus in India, located on the outskirts of East Bengaluru. Named Ananta, the new office spans 1.6 million square feet and can accommodate up to 5,000 employees.

This marks Google’s fourth campus in India, adding to its offices in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. The company currently has over 10,000 employees in the country.

What is Ananta all about?

Google calls Ananta one of its “most ambitious ground-up developments.” A joint effort between Google India and local design teams, the campus reflects modern workplace trends. Each floor is designed like a city grid, making navigation easier. There are dedicated neighbourhoods for collaboration and smaller nooks and booths for focused work.

At the centre of the building is Sabha, a large gathering space for discussions and community interactions. The surrounding landscape includes walking and jogging paths, a nod to Bengaluru’s Garden City identity.

Google says the campus aligns with its broader push to develop technology in India. In a blog post, the company highlighted its work in AI-powered flood forecasting, early tuberculosis detection, and financial inclusion through Google Pay.

With this new campus, Google aims to deepen its engagement with India’s research and startup ecosystem. Preeti Lobana, Vice President and Country Manager, Google India, said the facility symbolises the “technological paradigm shift” led by AI and Google’s commitment to supporting Indian talent through skilling initiatives.
