Infosys will restart campus recruitment in 2025 after keeping the exercise on hold for two years. The country’s second-largest IT services company is preparing to hire fresh graduates for the fiscal year 2025-26, even as rivals move in the opposite direction with job cuts.
At a time when TCS and HCL Tech are reportedly trimming roles due to AI adoption and cost pressures, Infosys is pushing ahead with talent acquisition. In July, chief executive officer Salil Parekh had indicated that the company plans to recruit around 20,000 graduates, steering clear of large-scale layoffs.
The contrast is sharp: TCS’s mid and senior-level layoffs are expected to affect nearly 12,000 employees worldwide, while Infosys is gearing up to expand its workforce.
Infosys has already invited senior employees to be part of interview panels that will travel to campuses. The panels will assess candidates for digital specialist engineer roles, focusing on programming and problem-solving abilities.
The recruitment drive will cover more than ten tier-2 and tier-3 engineering colleges across India, spanning disciplines such as computer science, IT, electronics and mechanical engineering.
Fresh recruits who clear the process — which includes aptitude tests, group discussions and interviews — will first undergo training at Infosys’s Global Education Centre in Mysuru. The programme is designed to build skills in AI and digital technologies, areas where Infosys has been investing heavily to prepare its workforce for future client needs.
Only after completing this training successfully will the graduates be absorbed into the company’s projects.
