Kerala-based Kings Infra Ventures has announced a move outside its home turf, signing an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to develop a ₹2,500 crore aquaculture technology park near Srikakulam.

The 500-acre facility is being projected as India’s first fully AI-driven aquaculture park. For Andhra Pradesh—already the country’s largest aquaculture-producing state—this adds another layer of technology-led expansion.

Large-ticket commitment

Kings Infra will pump in ₹500 crore directly for core infrastructure, processing facilities and research and development. Another ₹2,000 crore is expected to flow in from ancillary industries, MSMEs and renewable energy-linked ventures.

For a Kerala company to take up such a large-scale multi-year project in Andhra Pradesh marks a notable shift, especially in a sector that has long depended on traditional farming methods. The deal was formalised during the CII Partnership Summit held at Visakhapatnam

According to the company’s statement, the technology park will house hatcheries, indoor farming systems, multi-species culture units, processing lines and a marine bio-actives division. All of this will be digitally connected through BlueTechOS—the company’s proprietary AI operating system being built in Visakhapatnam.

The park is expected to train 5,000 aquaculture professionals over five years and support continuous production of shrimp, seabass, grouper and tilapia for domestic and export markets.

Govt speeds up things

The Andhra Pradesh MSME minister said the state will offer single-window clearance for land identification and all required approvals. This could potentially help the project move faster than typical large industrial developments, although the pace will depend on land availability and regulatory timelines.

The deal comes at a time when Kings Infra is reporting strong numbers. In the July–September quarter of the 2025–26 financial year, the company posted a 22.36% rise in consolidated net profit, touching ₹4.24 crore.

Total income increased to ₹43.45 crore from ₹30.56 crore a year earlier. The company said the aquaculture division, supported by orders from Europe, Vietnam and China, drove much of the growth.

Expansion footprint

Founded in 1987 and listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, Kings Infra operates across aquaculture, seafood exports and infrastructure development. With the Andhra project, the company is positioning itself beyond Kerala’s coastline and into one of India’s fastest-growing aquaculture regions.

How the project shapes up over the next few years will likely depend on global demand, technology adoption and state clearances. But for now, it marks one of the largest interstate aquaculture investments by a Kerala-based company.
