TVS Motor Company is set for a leadership transition as it looks to accelerate its global expansion, premiumisation and adoption of artificial intelligence. The two-wheeler major has appointed Peyman Kargar as its next chief executive officer, with the change taking effect on January 27, 2027.
KN Radhakrishnan, who has led the company as CEO, will continue in the role until the transition date. He will subsequently remain on the board as a non-executive director until the company’s annual general meeting in July 2027.
The leadership change comes at a time when TVS Motor is expanding rapidly in both domestic and international markets. The company sold 5.9 million vehicles globally in FY2025-26, while revenue grew 30 percent during the year.
Kargar has more than three decades of experience in the automotive industry, with exposure to markets across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His experience covers product development, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing.
He has been heading TVS Motor’s International Business division, which has emerged as a key growth engine for the company. International operations now account for 29 percent of TVS Motor’s total sales volume and have grown at 33 percent.
His experience across developed and emerging markets is expected to be particularly relevant as TVS Motor seeks to increase its international footprint.
As CEO, Kargar will oversee TVS Motor’s operations in India and international markets. His key priorities are expected to include product innovation, premiumisation and increasing the company’s presence in developed markets.
The company also plans to strengthen its technology capabilities, with greater integration of artificial intelligence across various areas of the business.
The leadership transition comes as TVS Motor seeks to build on its recent growth and strengthen its position as a global two-wheeler and mobility player.
Kargar’s international experience and familiarity with TVS Motor’s overseas business are expected to help the company pursue its next phase of expansion, while Radhakrishnan’s continued association with the board will provide continuity during the transition.
The appointment also signals TVS Motor’s intent to combine its established strengths in product and manufacturing with greater global scale, technology adoption and premium offerings.
