Dhanam's prestigious BFSI Summit kicks off in Kochi

The 7th Dhanam BFSI Summit, organised by Dhanam Business Media, began in Kochi with a focus on exploring diverse banking, finance, investment opportunities. The summit aims to share both technical and practical knowledge in areas such as banking, the stock market, and other financial services sectors. Over 400 participants from across the country are taking part in the event, held at the Le Méridien Convention Centre in Kochi.

The event kicked off with a welcome speech by A Gopalakrishnan, Senior Partner at K. Venkatachalam Iyer & Co., Chartered Accountants, and Chairman of the Dhanam BFSI Summit Advisory Committee. In the inaugural session, JK Dash, Executive Director at the Reserve Bank of India, delivered the keynote address.

Rohind Mandotra, Head of Investor Relations at the National Stock Exchange, spoke about the role of retail investors in building India's capital market. Prashant Jain, the prominent fund manager and founder of 3P Investment Managers, has shared his insights on market trading strategies.

Other distinguished speakers, including Ganesh Kumar, former Executive Director of RBI and Independent Director at IDFC First Bank, and PR Ravi Mohan, Chairman of ISAF Small Finance Bank, will address various aspects of the financial services sector.

Panel discussion with investor 

A key highlight of the summit will be a panel discussion featuring Sanjay Abraham, Head of Research Desk at Dhanam Business Media, in conversation with India's leading value investor, Porinju Veliyath, founder of Equity Intelligence. Shobhit Mehta, Principal Officer at Mirre Asset Managers, will also deliver a lecture on investment opportunities for expatriates in the Gift City.

Financial trends

Another session will feature a discussion led by Prince George, MD of DBFS, with VP Nandakumar, Managing Director and CEO of Manappuram Finance. They will talk about important trends in the financial services sector.

Stock market insights

AK Prabhakar, an investment expert and former head of research at IDBI Capital, along with Akshay Aggarwal, MD of Acumen Capital Markets, will participate in a panel discussion on the current "do's and don'ts" in the stock market. The session will be moderated by Dr. Ranjith RG, Associate Director at Geojit Financial Services.

The evening will also feature a special lecture by Dr. Swayam Sodha, an eleven-year-old boy genius and innovator, who will share his insights.

Talent recognition and awards 

The summit’s evening will conclude with an awards ceremony, where Union Minister of State George Kurien will be the chief guest. The minister will present awards to individuals excelling in the banking and insurance sectors. Federal Bank MD and CEO KVS Maniyan will deliver the keynote address during the awards night.

The event will include speed networking, exciting games, and a networking dinner.
