Lulu Group’s much-anticipated Twin IT Towers in Kochi are now beginning to fill up, with four companies already securing office space inside the complex. EXL, OPI, Dynamite, and SellEase have jointly taken up about 2.5 lakh square feet, marking the first phase of occupancy. One company is already operational, employing close to 1,000 people.
Hiring across these four companies is expected to reach around 2,500 over the next two months. The full project, once scaled, is estimated to house up to 30,000 tech professionals — though there’s no clear timeline on when that target will be reached.
Amid the early-stage rollout, Lulu Group has also announced plans for a Phase II expansion at Infopark, proposing an additional investment of ₹500 crore. The state government has indicated support in terms of land and infrastructure if the plan moves forward.
The towers are being framed as part of a larger effort to build long-term employment within the state, especially for skilled IT workers who often migrate to cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad or abroad.
Whether that ambition plays out as expected will depend on how quickly the remaining office space gets filled — and if the infrastructure can translate to real, sustained job growth.
The towers were inaugurated on June 29 by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In a rare show of cross-party attendance, the launch event saw participation from opposition leader V D Satheesan, ministers P Rajeev and P R Anil, deputy opposition leader P K Kunhalikutty, BJP state president and former union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MP Hibi Eden, MLA Uma Thomas, Thrikkakara chairperson Radhamani Pillai, and councillor Abdu Shan.
This level of political presence has led to speculation that investment projects like these may be gaining broader political consensus — something that hasn’t always been the case in Kerala.
The Twin Towers are located in the Infopark region and cover a built-up area of 35 lakh square feet, with 25 lakh square feet designated for IT companies. Standing at 152 metres, the 30-floor buildings are now among the tallest commercial structures in South India.
The facilities include robotic parking for 3,200 vehicles, conventional parking for another 1,300, a rooftop helipad, a 2,500-capacity food court, and a 600-seat conference hall. Other features include EV charging stations, 100% power backup, a data centre, rainwater harvesting, a waste treatment plant, gym, crèche, and LEED Platinum pre-certification for green standards.
