Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced a three-day visit to the United States on September 21.

The trip includes participation in the Quad summit and an address at the United Nations General Assembly's 'Summit of the Future.'

During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden to discuss the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Wilmington, Delaware

On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Wilmington, Delaware, to participate in the Fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit.

The summit aims to review the progress made by Quad nations—India, the United States, Japan, and Australia—over the past year and to set the agenda for future initiatives focused on Indo-Pacific development goals.

Key discussion topics include health security, climate change, emerging technologies, connectivity, maritime security, and counter-terrorism efforts.

Cancer Moonshot initiative

A major highlight of the summit will be the launch of the "Cancer Moonshot" initiative, which seeks to prevent, detect, treat, and alleviate the impact of cancer, with an initial focus on reducing the burden of cervical cancer in the Indo-Pacific region.

Bilateral meetings with leaders from the US, Japan, and Australia are also planned.

In his meeting with President Biden, PM Modi is expected to sign two agreements: the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the India-US drug framework.

Additionally, Mr. Modi will provide updates on discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding the ongoing war.

On September 22, PM Modi will travel to New York City, where he will interact with CEOs of leading US-based companies.

Discussions will focus on enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology. The Prime Minister will also address the Indian community in New York during this visit.

Participation in UN Summit

On September 23, PM Modi will participate in the Summit of the Future at the United Nations General Assembly.

His address will focus on the theme "Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow," alongside other global leaders.

Mr. Modi is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss mutual interests and interact with thought leaders involved in the India-US bilateral relationship.
