Xylem, the Kerala-based education technology company, has announced a plan to build a `Xylem City' in Kozhikode. According to the founder and managing director Ananthu Sasikumar, Xylem City, will be a state-of-the-art campus in about 100 acres and will together all of Xylem's educational services under one roof.
Ananthu shared details of the project during an interview with DhanamOnline, revealing that the campus will feature a school with the capacity to accommodate up to 10,000 students. The project is being supported by PhysicsWallah, which acquired a 50% stake in Xylem.
The announcement of Xylem City comes as part of broader expansion plans for Xylem, which Dr. Ananthu also discussed in the interview. The company is preparing to make further inroads into South India, with existing centres in Coimbatore. Ananthu said the company plans to expand to other cities, including Salem, Tirunelveli, and Trichy in Tamil Nadu, as well as Mangalore and Udupi in Karnataka.
“Our goal is to cover the entire South India region,” he said suggesting that further regional growth could be on the horizon. He clarified that the operations in Northern India will be led by PhysicsWallah.
Ananthu hinted at the company’s Mission 2030 plan to acquire existing schools and to scale up Xylem’s operations.
Xylem’s growth is not limited to its physical expansion. Founded by Ananthu while he was studying MBBS, Xylem has trained over 50 lakh children in just four years and now operates 46 YouTube channels. The platform also has 2,700 employees spread across 14 districts of Kerala, with more than 30,000 offline students enrolled in centres and schools across the state. Xylem’s growth has even attracted the attention of Malayalam film star Mammootty, who has been appointed as the platform’s brand ambassador.
