The Nifty closed the session with a decline of 0.11%, settling at 23,532 points; the Sensex closed 110 points, or 0.14%, lower at 77,580.

Sensex settled 984.23 points lower at 77,690.95 while the broader Nifty ended 324.4 points lower at 23,559.05

Despite a positive start to Tuesday’s trading session, the momentum was short-lived as investors quickly resumed their 'sell on rise' strategy.

The Nifty closed Monday's session with a decline of 0.03%, settling at 24,141; the Sensex closed 52.51 points, or 0.07%, lower at 79,433.

The Nifty 50 closed the session with a decline of 0.21%, settling at 24,148 points; the Sensex closed 55.70 points, or 0.07%, lower at 79,486.

The Nifty 50 closed today’s session down by 1.16%, at 24,199 points, while the Sensex ended 1.03% lower, closing at 79,550 points compared to the previous close.

The Nifty concluded the trading session at 24,213.3, reflecting an increase of 1.12%; the Sensex traded within the range of 80,569.73 and 79,459.12, ultimately closing 1.13% higher at 79,476.63.

The robust rally in the banking and metal sectors propelled the Nifty 50 to close the trading session with a 0.91% gain, reaching 24,213 points; the Sensex concluded the day with a gain of 0.84%, finishing at 79,447 points.

The Indian rupee remained largely unchanged against the dollar, opening at Rs 84.12, whereas in the global commodities market, gold prices dropped to $2,732 

The Sensex closed 942 points, or 1.18 percent, lower at 78,782.24; the Nifty closed with a loss of 309 points, or 1.27 percent, at 23,995.35.
